Red Flags Rule Delayed Until June 1, 2010

The Federal Trade Commission announced that the Red Flags Rule, designed to protect consumers against identity theft, has been delayed once again, until June 1, 2010. Here is the FTC announcement: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2009/10/redflags.shtm (due to a lot of traffic to this site, it may take a few tries to open the page). AVMA and other health care associations are lobbying for legislation to exempt small business from the rule. We are hoping the U.S. Senate will follow the lead of the House in approving the bill.
